Hobby Update: Lords of the Wild

Hello and welcome back to the final Lords of the Wild update (for now). I just finished the last model for my warband, a Forest Dragon! This dragon will be used as a Scourge (flying monster) in my warband,  providing me with a nice, mobile,  aggressive heavy-hitter.

Hello and welcome back! Today, I'll be showing off some newly finished minis for SAGA Age of Magic. This centaur lord and his retinue will represent a Warlord mounted on beast and unit of quadrupedal creatures, respectively. I'm not quite sure how often I'll use the warlord, as my current strategy revolves around a horse-mounted, nimble, We Obey  toting warlord, but having more options never hurts!

Hey everyone, welcome back! Apologies for my delayed posts, as you all can imagine, lots has been going on. Anyway, I managed to get some time to finally finish up my Elvish javelin Levy. Large units, like Levy, are rarely as fun to paint as imposing heroes, big baddies, gibbering monsters, and diabolical war machines, but the meat grinder demands flesh! These guys (and gals?) are meant to harry flanks, provide medium range missile support, and, frankly, generate SAGA dice (not everyone gets to be the star). Here's a close up of the unit leader, because he's glamorous.  Now that this unit has been completed, only two units remain in this warband! I'm debating whether to start my Scourge (a forest dragon!) or three points of Quadrupedal Creatures (centaurs, of course). If you've got an opinion, let me know! -Nick

Hey folks, welcome back! Today, I finished another three points of elves for my SAGA Age of Magic's Lords of the Wild warband. These guys were the last big "push" on my warband (fatal last words, I know), as they were twelve mounted minis (so twenty four in reality, counting horses).  A potential, albeit not optimized, eight point warband.

Welcome back, happy holidays! Here's an update with a focus on heroes. Recently, I completed some new heroes for one of my SAGA Age of Magic warbands, the Lords of the Wild. To help make my warband less creature focused, I've added a traditional mounted warlord, a mounted sorcerer, and ranger (lieutenant) minis. Here's also a group shot with some of the other miniatures from the warband. Over time, as mentioned before, I hope to make this warband more mobile, mounted, and range combat-driven. Here are a selection of close-ups for each hero. WARLORD My warlord will primarily act as an enabler for large units of mounted hearthguards with compound bows. Using We Obey , I hope to give my hearthguard an additional opportunity to fire their bows without using SAGA dice. SORCERER My sorcerer will continue the trend of my high-mobility strike force. However, she will primarily be used to generate clumps of trees for my wood elves to Ambush! ...

Hello and welcome back! Today's blog is a small update on my Lords of the Wild warband for SAGA Age of Magic . Currently my warband is composed of heroes, creatures, and monsters per the Minotaurs of the Black Hills Legendary Warband rules. However, this feels a bit limiting, especially when Lords of the Wild have so many ranged weapons and abilities at their disposal!

SAGA Age of Magic: SOLO SHOWDOWN: The Undead Legion vs Lords of the Wild

Image
Welcome back to another rousing game of SAGA Age of Magic. Tonight, I once again played myself using my Undead Legion and Lords of the Wild warbands. I'd been hankering to try the legendary Undead warband, The Royal Dynasty of Nephren-Ka,  and take those characterful dynastic chariots for a spin. I wasn't sure how well they'd play, especially since I've never used cavalry with composite bows before, but how bad could it be? I created two warbands of six points, as listed below: THE UNDEAD LEGION  6 pts  (The Royal Dynasty of Nephren-Ka)

Here's a juicy diorama to rope you all in. It's composed of my Lords of the Wild (SAGA Age of Magic) warband and a hodge podge of human 15mm miniatures I've got (Kings of War & SAGA).

SAGA Age of Magic: SOLO SHOWDOWN

I finally found a worthy opponent...MYSELF! I was dying to play this weekend and since I had some free time (and two warbands) I decided to try a game of solo SAGA: AOM. I played 4 pts, Lords of the Wild vs The Undead Legion. LORDS OF THE WILD 4pts (Minotaurs of the Black Hills) Warlord Sorcerer 1 pt Creatures 2 pts Behemoth 1 pt
